From Fatherhood to Future Skills - Why I Founded Xaveit

I’m a father of two teenagers, and like many parents, I’ve had the privilege of watching them grow in ways that a report card will never capture. I’ve seen persistence in sports practice, creativity in personal projects, leadership in school activities, and empathy in the way they support their peers. These moments are where real growth happens — but most of the time, they slip through the cracks.

The reality is that education systems, both here in Singapore and around the world, still rely heavily on grades and certificates to measure success. But grades don’t tell the whole story. They don’t reveal resilience, initiative, or creativity. They don’t capture the courage it takes to try something new, or the character it takes to support others. And as I watched my own children develop these very qualities, I realized something: the world they are stepping into will value these skills even more than the grades on their transcript.

We are living in an age where artificial intelligence is reshaping industries and the future of work. What will set the next generation apart are not just technical skills or test scores, but human skills: leadership, creativity, collaboration, adaptability, and empathy. These are the skills that can’t be automated, and they’re developed in everyday moments — on the sports field, in a community service project, in a group assignment, or through a personal passion.

And yet, those achievements remain invisible in traditional systems.

The Missing Link I Couldn’t Ignore

Over the past decade, I’ve had the chance to launch and scale several education and technology projects. In that journey, I kept noticing the same gap: students were doing incredible things outside the classroom, but they lacked a structured way to capture, validate, and share those achievements.

What existed were either scattered photos and certificates or platforms that focused only on academics. Neither reflected the full story of a student’s growth.

This realization wasn’t just professional — it was deeply personal. As a dad, I didn’t want my children’s growth to be measured only by test scores. I wanted them to be able to look back at their teenage years and see the bigger picture: the hours of persistence, the courage to try, the creativity to build, the teamwork to lead, the empathy to serve.

That conviction became the seed of Xaveit.

What Xaveit Does

Xaveit is built as a living, mentor-validated digital portfolio. It’s not a static resume or a list of grades. Instead, it’s a place where students and parents can:

  • Log achievements consistently — from leadership roles to creative projects, sports practices, volunteering, or personal pursuits.

  • Add proof — whether it’s a photo, a certificate, a video, or a reflection.

  • Request mentor endorsements — from teachers, coaches, or supervisors, transforming self-claims into trusted records.

  • Export a professional portfolio — ready for scholarships, DSA applications, enrichment programs, or simply as a reflection of growth.

The goal is to turn everyday wins into a credible narrative — one that schools, selectors, and future opportunities can trust.

Why This Matters Now

The future my children, and yours, are stepping into is one where change is constant. AI will handle much of what we consider “academic recall” today. What will matter most are the skills that make us uniquely human: the ability to create, to lead, to empathize, to persist.

But for these qualities to be recognized, they need to be captured. They need to be validated. They need to be presented in ways that selectors and institutions respect. That’s the gap Xaveit fills.

It’s not just another edtech platform. It’s a bridge — between the real-world skills students are developing every day and the recognition they deserve in school, in applications, and in life.

From Dad to Builder

At its core, Xaveit is not just a product of my professional background in education technology. It’s a product of fatherhood.

As a dad, I want my teens to be seen not just for what they scored, but for who they are becoming. I want them to carry forward a growth story that reflects their persistence, creativity, and resilience.

As an entrepreneur, I want to equip parents and students everywhere with the tools to do the same.

The Mission of Xaveit

My mission with Xaveit is simple: to give every student the chance to showcase who they are beyond grades. To make achievements visible. To make growth credible. To make opportunities accessible.

Because our children are more than numbers. They are stories waiting to be told.
